What do we understand by woods?

Wood is a hard structural tissue mainly found in the roots of the trees. Since thousands of years wood is being used as both the fuel and as a construction material as to make cottages. Wood is a very good heat insulator that is the reason it is preferred in cold climate’s cottages and lodges. It gives them a sophisticated look too. Woods are mainly categorized into two types:

  •          Hardwood
  •          Softwood

Hardwoods: Hardwood is a kind of wood which we get from angiosperm trees. They are mostly the broad leaved and also they are deciduous. They have more complex structure as compared to the softwoods. The main difference between the two is the presence of vessels or pores in hardwoods. The vessels may vary in size; shape of the perforation plates and also in the structure of cell wall. As the name it suggests that these woods are much harder than the soft woods.
